Accessibility statement for VipLIMS
This accessibility statement applies to the public website at viplims.com, including its help and legal pages, and to the VipLIMS app at viplims.com/app, including the referrer portal.
This website and app are run by Visiopath Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use them. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings;
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen;
- navigate the website and app using just a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator;
- navigate the website and app using speech recognition software;
- listen to most of the website and app using a screen reader;
- sign in using a password manager, and paste passwords and codes, without puzzles or memory tests.
We have also made the text as simple as possible to understand. We do not use accessibility overlays: we fix the underlying pages instead.
How accessible this website and app are
We are not aware of any parts of the website or app that are not accessible. This is based on automated testing; we have not yet carried out a full manual audit with assistive technology, so some issues may not have been found.
Feedback and contact information
If you need information on this website in a different format, such as accessible PDF, large print, easy read or audio, or you have difficulty using any part of the website or app, email [email protected] or call 0800 111 4606. It helps if you tell us:
- the page or screen you were using (the web address helps);
- what you were trying to do and what went wrong;
- the browser, device and any assistive technology you use.
Please do not include patient data. We will acknowledge your message and reply within 5 working days.
Reporting accessibility problems with this website
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of VipLIMS. If you find any problems not listed on this page, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, contact us as described above.
Enforcement procedure
Visiopath Ltd is not a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us directly. We publish this statement in the government's model format because many of the laboratories that use VipLIMS are in the public sector. We also have duties under the Equality Act 2010. If you contact us with a complaint and you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this website's accessibility
Visiopath Ltd is committed to making its website and app accessible, in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA.
Compliance status
The website and app have been tested against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard using automated tools, and no failures were found. Because a full manual audit has not yet been carried out, we do not yet claim that they are fully compliant.
Non-accessible content
None known from automated checks.
Disproportionate burden
We are not claiming disproportionate burden for any content.
Content that is not within the scope of this statement
- Laboratory reports. Reports generated by VipLIMS use each laboratory's own templates and letterhead, which the laboratory controls. They are available as PDF, Word and plain text; if a recipient cannot use the PDF, the Word or plain-text version may be easier to read with assistive technology.
- Third-party payment pages. Donations are made on Stripe's and PayPal's own pages, which are covered by their accessibility statements.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We check accessibility when we design and build features, and we run automated accessibility checks on the main user journeys as part of every release. We design for keyboard-first use, colour-independent flags (statuses and flags always use text or icons as well as colour), alternatives to dragging, adequate target sizes, and focus that is never hidden behind other content. We plan an independent manual audit and will update this statement with its results. We record accessibility fixes in the changelog.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 13 October 2026. It was last reviewed on 13 October 2026.
The website and app were last tested in October 2026 by Visiopath Ltd, using automated checks (axe-core) run on the main user journeys at desktop and mobile screen sizes as part of our automated test suite.
